Some Answers!
I have been getting a few questions recently by people wanting to know more about what this whole Soundplot thing is, so here is an attempt at answering some of those questions. First and foremost, here at Soundplot.net we try to bring new bands and music to your attention. There is a lot of really good stuff going on and much of it goes unnoticed. There is always something worth checking out..
What we do: We try to feature a new band every one to two weeks. This feature includes a short review, a track or two to listen to and the availability to leave a comment. We do not like to think of ourselves as a “Music Review Site,” because our focus is more on giving you a taste of the bands in hopes that you will enjoy it and make it out to their next show. Also, feel free to leave comments. If you think our review is daft or if we got some information wrong, let us know. If the songs rock your world, let us know.
But for those who care, the review process is as follows: First, we create the band in question a page and alert one or more of our review staff. In about a week’s time, we post the review on the page and it is featured in the order it was received.
Who runs it all?: We generally like to keep the reviewers anonymous. We do have a few people out talking about the site and finding bands, but they are not necessarily going to do the review. We want to keep it this way because we want to decrease preconceived notions about any bands that may be caused by the person who reviewed it. Also, it decreases any preconceived notion about the people involved with the site. The reviewers do not claim to know more or less about music than your average listener. They are just people who really enjoy going to shows and listening to music.
Who gets on and how is that decided?: Everyone. First come, first served. If you have any music you would like to get out to our readers, let us know about it!
P.S. We are always looking for anyone that wants to help or be involved in anyway. Collaboration is the best way to get great things done. If you would like to review, find music, or add any personal projects to the site, let us know. We are not strictly confined to music. We welcome any and everything!
